WEEK 9/30 - 10/4
Monday - We came into class and there was a pixel puzzle looking thing on the table with tiny blocks in different colors. The game was called Bloxels and it works by using block pieces to build a game design and with that design you can create your own game. For the whole class period we tested and played around with Bloxels. For more info on Bloxels, here is their website, https://edu.bloxelsbuilder.com/.

Tuesday - We moved on from Bloxels and started a new program called Unity. Unity is a website that teaches you how to make 2D and 3D games. In the beginning, we started by learning how a Mario Kart demo works. Then we worked toward customizing and creating our own similar Mario Kart game. For more info on Unity, here is their site https://learn.unity.com/projects.

Wednesday - We talked about how Unity worked and what we wanted to do for our unity project. Then we split up into groups depending on what we liked about Unity. I partnered with someone who wanted to create a 2D game because I found that interesting since we only played around with 3D games before. We started to make the game for the last ten minutes of class.

Thursday - I continued to work on the 2D game with my partner in the beginning of class. Then we found the GameMaker website to be very difficult and confusing so we started to create a 3D printing object on ThinkerCad. My partner and I discussed what we were going to create and we thought about creating a car. For the rest of the class we continued to design our car.

Friday - My partner and I continued to work on our 3D printing design. We were not able to finish, but it was a great experience to practice designing a 3D prototype. By the end of the week, we worked on four different programming projects and we had the opportunity to design a 3D object. I thought this week was very fun and interesting because we used many different programs and we had the option to work on the programs we enjoyed. I am very hopeful and happy for what the future holds in this class.

WEEK 10/7 - 10/11
Monday - When we walked into class there were small circuit boards on the table and there was a small light device with a wire. The circuit boards were called Arduino and the small light devices were called the Circuit Playground. Mr. Wong explained to us what both of the devices do and how to program each device. For more info on Arduino, here is their site https://www.arduino.cc. For more info on the Circuit Playground, here is an informative site https://www.adafruit.com/index.php?main_page=category&cPath=888.

Tuesday - We continued to work on Arduino and the Circuit Playground. My partner and I managed to complete one program on our Circuit Playground which was a clap light. Then we started on another program where the lights flash different colors, but we did not get to finish. By the end of class, my partner decided that we should start Arduino the following day.

Wednesday - At the start of class there were multiple Arduino circuit boards and a kit full of different wires and resistors on the table. The first Arduino project was to create a specific circuit board in order to make a light turn on. I was able to complete the light project and I continued to work on another project that involved a switch for the light. At the end of class, I was not able to complete the switch project, but working with Arduino was really fun.

Thursday - Our school had a career day, therefore all of our classes were only around a half an hour. During the shorter class period, I continued to test out Arduino and I managed to get the switch to work. After the switch project, I figured I have done enough with Arduino and for the rest of the class I worked on my Help Desk blog.

Friday - At the beginning of class, Mr. Wong gave us a choice of doing Arduino or working on our blogs. I chose working on my blog because I felt like I did enough with Arduino. While my classmates were working on their blogs or doing Arduino, Mr. Wong passed out a virtual reality head set and each student had the chance to use it and play the game that went along with it. The game was very fun and I felt like buying the virtual reality set right after I finished using it. For more info on the Nintendo Labo virtual reality head set, here is a link https://labo.nintendo.com.

WEEK 10/15 - 10/18
Monday - No School. Columbus Day!

Tuesday - In the beginning of class, we saw the Nintendo Labo set up. Mr. Wong explained what games we were playing and how to use the VR set. Then we began playing the games and they were very fun. We played a car game and the VR set had a pedal, wheel, and brake which was very interesting. When you played, it was just like driving a real car. For more info on the Nintendo Labo VR here is their site https://labo.nintendo.com/kits/vr-kit/.

Wednesday - At the start of class, Mr. Wong explained what Help Desk was going to do for Stem Week. The plan for Stem Week is to have various stations on different technology we have used during Help Desk so far. During the class period we reviewed the different technology we used. Then at the end of class we assigned stations to each person.

Thursday - When we walked into class we saw that Mr. Wong had set up some type of VR game. There were two tripods and a VR headset. Mr. Wong explained that the VR was for the computer and it was called the VR Vive. The game that we played was called Deep Sea Experience and it seemed like you were an actual deep sea diver who looked at fish up close. The game seemed very realistic and even though it was not interactive, it was interesting to see the experience through VR. For more info on the VR Vive here is their site https://www.vive.com/us/.

Friday - In the beginning of class, Mr. Wong told us we would be playing Playstation VR. The game we played was called Saber Dash. The game involved two controllers that acted as sabers. The game had cubes going straight towards you as the song played and your goal was to hit the cubes and to dodge the obstacles that were around the cubes. The game was very fun and interactive. For more info on the Playstation VR here is their site

AMAZON WEB SERVICES
Monday - At the beginning of class, Mr. Wong explained Amazon Web Services to us. Then we got started working on a chat bot and testing out different chat bots on the website. For more information on Amazon Web Services, here is their site https://aws.amazon.com/.

Tuesday-Friday - We worked on the different layers of developing our chat bots. Mr. Wong gave mini lectures on how to create the different types of chat bots and interesting new things to add to each of our chat bots. After finishing the basic chat bots, I started to work on a weather chat bot that would tell you the weather in any major city. I indeed needed the help from Mr. Wong, but I managed to finish it and it was pretty cool to see how the weather bot worked.

1ST WINTER ENTRY
Mr. Wong explained to us what we were doing for CS ED week. I wanted to do something with the VR because it interested me. I teamed up with Matt and Sam and we worked on our VR presentation for the rest of class. For the whole week 12/9 - 12/13, my partners and I worked on our VR presentation. Then when CS ED week came we were prepared and finished our google slide presentation, but no classes came in to see our presentation so all of us worked on our individual projects for CS ED week.

Individual Project - My individual project is discovering how VR is used and how it works. I was thinking of doing a project with VR and creating my own VR experience. I have played many different games using the VR so I believe those experiences will help with my project. I worked on making a VR experience, but I have not made much progress since I did not know how to use all the tools. I am going to start making a VR experience soon when we have time to work on our individual projects. I am excited and hopeful for the future in this class because I am confident that my project will be a great opportunity to learn more about VR.
